ASCC is a non-profit organization, and a registered charity
Our Vision:The Association for Supported Community Connections (ASCC) vision is that individuals with disabilities are embraced within the community with respect, opportunity and encouragement.
Our Mission: ASCC enables individuals with disabilities to be integral members within the community through supported involvement.
Statement of Principle: We believe that creating environments that encourage individuals with disabilities to be active in pursuing their goals involves the full participation of individuals in a community. Valuable relationships can develop, from the interaction between individuals, that allow for improvement in developmental growth, abilities, dedication and encouragement.
The goal of ASCC is to provide support in an environment which allows individuals with disabilities to be comfortable, respected, and the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships.
How we provide services: ASCC works with individuals to establish an Individual Service Plan which provides opportunities to determine what an individual wants to do or areas where support is needed.
For all ASCC programs we strive to seek areas of the community where an individual lives to help fulfil their goals related to their Individual Service Plan. This could mean getting involved with Special Olympics sports, accessing community rec centres, or finding employment or volunteer positions.
ASCC always respects the right of every individual to choose the type of service that is needed, and the way it is provided.
Areas where we provide support: ASCC has been providing services for families since 2004. Our programs are offered in Edmonton, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, St. Albert and surrounding areas.
